ENCHANTED
This dinner installation focused on the use of light and sound to change a diner's perception of their experience. Guests met on the ag quad greeted by an object manipulation artist. They were led down a path, through the herb gardens, and up into a magical forest where flowers glowed under blacklight. They arrived for cocktail hour and the host announced, "Welcome to Underground," and the servers all lit up bottles of Moet champagne. Guests mingled over liquid nitrogen hordeourves.
Guests were then led down a glowing path to a multi color gazebo in the woods. A live DJ and drummer played as the guests were seated. As each course was served, the lighting and music changed to compliment the dish. Students were mentored by Katsuya Fukushima to create a six-course Asian and Spanish inspired menu. After dinner, guests were escorted out of the woods back to the parking lot. They exclaimed "Where are we? How do we get back to campus?" as if they had been transported into another world for a few hours. Little did they know, we were still on campus.
